Things to remember when nothing is happening your way!

I know no one is perfect and even when you think what can be possibly bad for this person he or she has gone through that phase of life where nothing seems to work out well. Well, nobody’s life is perfect and that is what adds colors to the dull picture.

There are days where you feel to drop the ball and let go everything and drain yourself in the deepest shell and never come out. You tend to ask yourself questions like, why me? Why it’s always me? Why nothing good comes my way? If you are able to connect to what I am trying to say go ahead and read the article…if not, you can still read it, no side effects.

Learn to let go

This is where majority of us fail. You keep on holding to the failure. You need to understand that it’s good to feel bad about something or cry over your failure, but once you are done promise yourself that you are not going to talk about it again. Wake up, Rise and shine.  Past is called past for a reason

It’s not the end of the world.

So you did not get the promotion you were expecting, maybe your relationship did not reach where you wanted it to, maybe you lost a match, its not the end of the world. You don’t have to go gaga over it. You can always try and strike harder next time. The ultimate goal should be happiness and don’t gamble your happiness on petty things.

Be in-charge of your own happiness

Majority of us waste our time pleasing others, sacrificing what you want to do or what makes you happy and giving more than necessary importance to thinking what others might thinking. You are not placed on this earth to please others. Don’t go over the top to please anyone. Its not worth it.

When you watch 11 movies in a GO...!!

Well, it wasn't some rush or anything. Neither was I trying to complete any pending wish list items (whats the use of having a wish list in that case). Well, it so happened that I had a short session of illness rendering my body incapable of doing much physical activity due to lack of energy hence I was at the privilege for lying around on my bed doing absolutely nothing. Being more of an insomniac I splurged my time on watching movies and before i could realize i churned out about 11 movies in a day.

The list doesn't depict my taste but basically I was watching whatever was getting downloaded easily. so here it goes.

1. Devil's Due
2. Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle
3. Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
4. Harold & Kumar Christmas
5. Road Trip
6. That Awkward Moment
7. Sex Tape
8. Think like a man too
9. A walk among the tomb stones
10. About Last Night
11. Neighbors

Let me tell you something you already know...

“Let me tell you something you already know.
The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.
You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit.
It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
How much you can take and keep moving forward.

That's how winning is done!”

-Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa

5 things that will make you more productive

1.     Saying “no” to the things you think can waste your time
Sometimes we are caught in a dilemma of pleasing others as well as ourselves. We tend to do certain things just because someone expects them from you. Sure, you can go ahead and make them happy but only when you have free time to do so.

2.     Make a to-do list and follow it.
I am sure many of you already have a to do list but how many of you follow it religiously. Making a to do list isn’t much of a pain than to follow it. if you cannot keep a  track of your to do list then set a reminder for the same or paste it on your mirror or on the car dashboard. This will make it grab your attention and there are fewer chances to forget things.

3.     Setting yourself to a timer
This is a very interesting technique. Once you get used to it, you will start loving it. Keep aside a time of 20 minutes and do only one task in this 20 minutes chunk without any distractions. Mails, calls, pings…everything can wait. After that take a 10 minute break and reply to all the distractions you got. Then get into another 20 minute time frame and so on. It might look 20 minutes of time wastage in an hour if you are a pessimist but believe me you tend to waste way more time than that in a normal life.

4.     Keep a track on where you wander off on the internet
Internet is vast and very distractive yet useful. So how smart are you to stop the distractions and make use of the only part that matters to you? Well if you need some help there, we have a bunch of soft wares available for free which track the time you spend on internet and sites. The report will help you to focus down and rescue some productive time.

5.     Plan your day the previous night
Plan your day before you go to sleep. This might take hardly 10 minutes of your time but your brain gets programmed and accordingly mind maps the day for you. Make sure you have decided what to wear, how much time to allot to office and how much to personal activities other than that. This will help you feel more organized and focused the next day.

Things that bring a sudden smile on your face?

How many things are there in this whole beautiful world that can make you smile instantaneously. If not a smile a smirk would be enough. Or are you too snooty to give it away for small things. Well, I was just lying down on my bed and thinking about such things…which make me happy even for a tiny second.

On a side note, these are little petty things which might not be very important and pass away as the day passes but I stop and notice them and make myself feel happy about it.

1.       Rain and the smell of earth when it rains.

2.       A beautiful song which was once on loop in my iPod and falls on my ears again after a while.

3.       Chicken, when I am literally starving.

4.       Smell of an untouched fresh book.

5.       A well-arranged wardrobe

6.       A new accessory, clothing etc (maybe a little materialistic)

7.       A new watch ( I love them)

8.       A baby’s innocent eyes

9.       A call from a long lost friend

10   A calm and quiet afternoon. I need some lone time once in a while.

Life as we know it

Life can be so rigid sometimes…we prefer is slow pace as we like indulging in it, enjoy the tranquil and get aligned to the flow of it and then a spur of moment comes when you feel why the hell was I so slow? Why does man always want something other than he has right now? Why can’t we just enjoy in the moment?

Life is very short. We think and we think and we plan again and again but somewhere down the line it does not matter at all. Learning to live life in the moment, striving to do something you really want to do and finally setting your feet on the destination you want to be ascertains a dream. OH, but then that’s not the end and it’s just the beginning of a new journey.

Cheers to LIFE as we know it...!!

Somewhere something little died in me today...

I was never a big fan of cricket (*as expected*)… but then my entire family was. Quiet surprisingly, I thought It was a waste of time. So back in those days when a house had only one T.V. , match once ON would never go OFF. Especially my Uncle, he had the ability to convert into a statue once the match is on. 110% attention is something which I got to learn from him. :P

Anyways so when Sachin was out… a dead silence in my living room. Everyone gets up…back to normal life and the TV goes off. That was miraculous. I always thought they were in love with the game but they were in love with this person. So just to know what’s so different about him I started watching him and I never stopped. This must be back in 1998-1999 and then I had a long 15 year relationship with him *wink*

Anyways how much ever I talk about him it’s going to be a drop in the sea. I cannot contain his greatness in words. He is modest, determined, dedicated and + all the infinite good adjectives all can be applied to him. Sadly I could watch him bat live only once but I remember my eyes were glued to the binoculars the whole time he was on the ground.

So just to summarize, you will always be my favorite person, one who is ideal to be an ideal person. I don’t care what people say or think about you. Cricket for me ends with you.
You are one heck of a global celebrity and still so bound to ground. *truly amazing*

“Now only Humans will play cricket… :( “

Something legends would like to add :

Matthew Hayden: "I have seen God. He bats at number four for India."

Rahul Dravid: "What he has done is set a benchmark for future generations which, probably, would be almost impossible for anyone to emulate."

Brian Lara: "Sachin is a genius. I'm a mere mortal. When I speak about cricket, I will speak about Tendulkar. Just like you mention Mohammad Ali when you mention boxing and Michael Jordan when it comes to basketball."

Anil Kumble: "I am fortunate that I've to bowl at him only in the nets."

Mahendra Singh Dhoni: "His schoolboy-like enthusiasm for the game is something I envy and admire. For the team he is the best available coaching manual."

Andy Flower: "There are two kind of batsmen in the world. One, Sachin Tendulkar. Two, all the others."

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan: "I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing us to breathe the same air as you do."

Shane Warne :”I’ll be going to bed having nightmares of Sachin just running down the wicket and belting me back over the head for six. He was unstoppable. I don’t think anyone, apart from Don Bradman, is in the same class as Sachin Tendulkar. He is just an amazing player “

Peter Roebuck : “On a train from Shimla to Delhi, there was a halt in one of the stations. The train stopped by for few minutes as usual. Sachin was nearing century, batting on 98.  The passengers, railway officials, everyone on the train waited for Sachin to complete the century. This Genius can stop time in India!”

Andrew Flintoff :When you bowl at him you are not just trying to get him out, you are trying to impress him.

Wasim Akram:Earlier, opposing teams used to feel that Sachin’s dismissal meant they could win the game. Today, I feel that the Indian players, too, feel this way.

Barack Obama - "I don't know about cricket but still I watch cricket to see Sachin play..Not b'coz I love his play its b'coz I want to know the reason why my country's production goes down by 5 percent when he's in batting"

Amitabh.:"Sachin is the heart of cricket.. He has not just excelled himself in cricket, but he is also a symbol of great excellence. It's unimaginable to see him retire. Cricket will not be the same without Sachin,"

Waqar Younis(Pak) :''He can play that leg glance with a walking stick also”

And just a treat to eyes while saying good bye.. :

Madras café review

Madras café is not just another Bollywood masala story with 2-3 item numbers thrown here and there. This movie is thought provoking, emotionally shaking, patriotic and deeply connecting you to the political front of the nation.

Cast:John, Abraham, Nargis Fakhri and Rashi Khanna
Director: Shoojit Sircar

The movie begins under the backdrop of Lankan wars and the innumerous innocent killings that took place then. The reel is quite made out of real photographs and you cannot believe your eyes when you see few of them. The entire story runs in a flashback mode well put by a now drunken John Abraham who pays regular visits to the church since a long time.

Soojit Sircar has made a very beautiful attempt at staying true to the facts and keeping a well-balanced nature between the imagination and the fiction.

Though throughout the film we are aware that there is a assassination that is going to take place, those who are good at history even know how and when…even then this movie will keep you glued to your seats. You want to know what happens next and how it happened.

There is no hero or villain in the film. John has played the hero but he is not given a larger than life role like the normal Bollywood films (people die here realistically even with 2 bullet shots…unlike most of the Bollywood films where they are alive even after shooting half a dozen of bullets at them). Everyone here has an important role. The film doesn’t show excess of anything.

It has hit the bulls eye while keeping it realistic. The film sticks to its genre of political drama without any unnecessary romances, love triangles, songs etc. its right to the core and is not beating around the bush and that keeps the viewer’s interest intact. Everyone has acted well and has not overdone or underdone anything which would spoil the flow of the film.

This movie showcases a volatile piece of Indian history. Some of the images are still alive in some generation across the nation. It leaves us with a question, that what do we gain at the end of  a war and who wins..?? It’s always the civilians who lose at the end of each war.

Rating:  5/5

That is because it sticks totally to its genre. This movie might not be for everyone but for those who are a part of this genre will love it.
