Sleeping postures and body pain.



Each one of us would like to know how to sleep well so that we get up well-rested. A number of factors are involved in how to sleep well. One of the factors is our sleep posture. We all have a typical sleep posture and we feel comfortable when we sleep in that sleep posture. We are aware that there are implications of our sleep posture from a physical health point of view.
Most of the ladies today who work in Software Company have the common problem of back pain. Obviously we all know it’s because of the sedentary work we practice.

Sometimes the only reason we are facing the pain in back, shoulders, neck, thighs is just because of the incorrect sleeping position we tend to sleep in for 6-8 hours of sleep.
So if we mend it a bit we can actually make a lot more of the remaining 16-18 hours of the day we have. And most importantly not make awful faces in the beginning of the day.
I am grounding this article on well known researches and few doctors advice I have come across.
Firstly try and remember the last position you had slept in… and do you remain in the same position till morning. If not, we can give a try to mend the later postures but at least how we sleep in the first place is totally under our control.



Sleeping on your stomach. 
Avoid sleeping on your stomach, experts’ advice people with this condition. Turning the neck to the side compresses the joints. Harmful to sleep on his stomach and chest, which is compressed during sleep and after a while the deposition of the lines, from which it is difficult to get rid of the skin is stretched.
If want to keep your face fresh, something to sleep on your stomach is not right because you have crushes on your face,  formed at first light, then deeper wrinkles.
You are about to cause some severe health issues. If you don’t believe me, try walking around with your head turned to one side. It won’t take long for you to begin feeling pain, soreness, dizziness or neck/shoulder tension. Your body doesn’t like this standing up, and I promise you that it doesn’t like it when you’re lying face down with your head on a pillow either.
The fact is, wrenching your head and neck in this way for even just a few minutes while sleeping can significantly strain the muscles and ligaments of the spine. Repeatedly doing so every night for years slowly adds pressure to the joints and nerves, contributing to spinal degeneration and allowing for the development of a variety of health problems.
While sleeping on your stomach may feel good and seem perfectly acceptable but it’s a bad habit and needs to be stopped ASAP.
Do not sleep on your back unless you have spinal problems already.


Sleeping on your side
Avoid sleeping on the side with the painful shoulder. Sleep on your back with a small pillow to support the bad shoulder. Or, if you sleep on the other side, hug a pillow.
Also, if the neck isn't adequately supported, you could get compression of the nerves that go from the neck to the arm. That's when you can get numbness or tingling, usually with the compression of a nerve from the sleeping position.
Back Pain
The most common sleeping position is on your side, with your legs and hips aligned and flexed. Because this position leaves your upper leg unsupported, the top knee and thigh tend to slide forward and rest on the mattress, rotating the lower spine. This slight rotation may contribute to back or hip pain. To prevent that problem, place a pillow between your knees and thighs.
Acidity.
Sleeping on your side can help this condition, commonly known as heartburn. Back sleeping can pose problems because the head isn't elevated relative to the stomach so gastric contents can bubble up to the esophagus or back of the throat.
Sleeping on your back
The rule of thumb for many back problems is that sleeping on the back is the most comfortable. Keep a neutral position, with your spine aligned as if standing straight. Avoid flexing forward, for instance, by sinking into a mattress that is too soft, or bending backward,
Another solution is to prop up your head with pillows or to raise the head of the bed by two to four inches by placing bricks or large books under the front legs of the bed.

Pregnancy sleeping.
Sleeping on your side is best while you're pregnant. In particular, sleeping on your left side may benefit your baby by improving blood flow . It also helps your kidneys efficiently eliminate waste products and fluids from your body, which in turn reduces swelling in your ankles, feet, and hands.
Avoid sleeping on back when you are pregnant. When you're sleeping on your back, the weight of your uterus lies on the spine, back muscles, intestines, and major blood vessels. This can lead to muscle aches and pains and problems in circulation, which is uncomfortable for you and can reduce circulation to your baby.
And sleeping on your stomach is totally out of question.

So what is the best position to sleep in?

The Best: Back position – WINNER..!!!!


Good for: Preventing neck and back pain, reducing acid reflux, minimizing wrinkles, maintaining perky breasts. ;)

Bad for: Snoring –minimal side effect you can have.

 Sleeping on your back makes it easy for your head, neck, and spine to maintain a neutral position. You're not forcing any extra curves into your spine.

Fruits and their effect on Body and Skin..



APPLE
Apples contains flavonoids, quercetin, catechin, phloridzin and chlorogenic acid that protect the heart as they are potent antioxidants.
Flavonoids prevent excessive inflammation, regulate blood pressure, prevent too much clumping together of blood platelets; both soluble and insoluble fibre in apples helps lower LDL (bad) cholesterol levels.
Eating an apple daily reduces the risk of lung cancer, colon cancer and breast cancer. Red apple peel also contains many antioxidants that have cancer-fighting (antiproliferative) properties. 



Berries
 It contains a powerful antioxidant that helps mitigate damage from free radicals on the skin. 
It protects skin from sun damage and hinders the formation of an enzyme that breaks down elasticity of the skin. This combination creates a super compound which helps in fighting against wrinkles. Some essential fatty acids which are crucial element for general health, they can improve skin’s hydration and smoothness, and reduce inflammation






Grapes
Presence of organic acids in the grapes stimulates the rejuvenation of the skin cells. Grapes also remove the toxins from the body and help to make skin free from the diseases.
 Vitamin C is required for the collagen formation which makes upto 70% of dry weight of human skin. Collagen is a protein which is required for the growth of the cells and blood vessels and provides strength and firmness to the skin.

Kiwi
Vitamin C not only firms skin, it repairs it. Kiwis have more vitamin C than a comparable amount of oranges. Vitamin C helps cuts and abrasions to heal and it also works to prevent rough, dry skin.
You can't turn the clock back but you may be able to slow it down. Kiwis are a major source of antioxidants that can delay the effects of aging throughout the body.







Orange
Oranges also contain high levels of vitamin A, which helps your skin protect your body from invading bacteria and viruses. According to the National Institutes of Health, vitamin A is used in acne treatments. Vitamin C also helps reduce skin swelling, which may reduce the appearance of pimples






Citric acid, found in oranges, grapefruits and other citrus fruits, is used in chemical peel products, which remove dead cells to make your skin look younger. Furthermore, when applied topically, vitamin C can increase skin hydration, which reduces wrinkles and adds to a youthful appearance.

Water Melon
Watermelon is very useful for removing blemishes on the skin. Watermelon is rich in A, B and C vitamins that keeps the skin fresh radiant and hydrated.

Say You are Punctual ….In style..!!




These days I am having a fetish for Watches. Earlier, I used to have one watch and then carry it everywhere… until it either wears off or breaks down.
Now watches are no less than fashion statements… and I think most of you will agree with me on this.
There isn’t a master watch that goes with all outfits and I am definitely not the person who goes out without a watch
I wanted to shed some light on the minimal kind of watches every women should have.
Nothing says "It’s my time" like owning a really nice watch — not only are you telling the world that you're punctual, but you're saying it with style, too.

Types :

Chronograph watch :
I know this type is dominated by male class, but it doesn’t hurt to adapt to something so beautiful. They are a bit on the techy side rather than fashion.
But they go awesomely well with formal wear. They give a business class to the entire outfit. Make sure that you get one with the metallic strap because I personally think that the belt ones aren’t that classy for this type.


Vintage Watches :
Who doesn’t like to show off something from the vintage?
Well they look great with white and pastel outfits. Mostly if you are going for a Sunday brunch with the family or to a classical day party. You should definitely get one..!!
Fossil is a great brand to get the watches with vintage look.



 
Sports watch :
There  is a special edition in all the famous series for the sports watch : sports edition.
They look tough and strong. You should get this watch for all the adventure holidays , beaches n safari’s you are planning.
Most of them are waterproof… make sure you cross check once again.



Gold watch :
Every girl should have a chunky piece of gold watch. They look timelessly classic.
They just sit there and attract everyone’s attention. It’s for all those weddings and lavish parties you attend. Make sure to check out Rose gold collection – that’s my favourite.





Silver Watch:
This watch is a must have if you are a working women. You cannot always accessorize yourself with statement jewelry when in office. This piece does that for you. You can go for one with the studs or something of that sort if you want a Bling..!!

These days brand spells out lifestyle. This segment of watches is for those times when you are with someone really important and you want to make an impression. No jewelry is as impressive as a good time piece.

How to hit off the times when you feel BLUE.



May It be coming back from vacation and straight to office or only some random day when you don’t feel good about yourself. Feel exceptionally depressed without any reason.
You must have gone through this mood swings on and off…sometimes frequently sometimes very rarely.
This article will lead you through a few tips that would help you to get you of the blueness you find yourself in
1.     If you don’t feel like doing anything, just wake up …shake off a bit. Wash your face with cool water, put on a nice perfume or aroma candles. If you are not feverish then take a hot water bubble bath. Let it extend.

2.     Music – made for every emotion. But if you are feeling depressed refrain from putting on some sad songs…that would accentuate your feelings. Put on something catchy, hip hop music or your favorite music list.

3.     Watch a good movie. Go to you tube… watch some funny videos. Laugh your heart out..!!!! Relax a bit.

4.     Still feeling blue. Just get dressed up and hit the malls with a friend or even alone. Go to your usual spa or massage center. Indulge in some soothing spa treatment. That surely will make you feel better.


5.     You can call up your family or that one friend whom you were intending to talk since a long time. Chit chat…bring on some old memories…make plans to catch up

6.     I would say work is the last thing you should do now… but if that keeps you busy, makes you feel you are making use of time. Go ahead do it.


7.     Go for a nice cozy lunch or dinner. I know depression makes you intolerable towards all the “calarious” stuff. You can cheat on your diet once in a while.

8.     Go shopping...:) it surely does cheer me up. And you have nothing much to lose if you spend a bit on your wardrobe.


9.     Still feeling blue?? Time to pack those bags and hit the road. Pull in some of your friends and shoot off to a weekend gateaway. This might be your much needed break.

10.                       If you still feel depressed talk to your family /hubby about it.
There is something that they can do which is more personal and special to you and cheer you up
