Smart Organizing tips

I am not very good at organizing; rather I am too lazy to do it. Anyways its never too late to mend. So thought I would give some tips which might be helpful in case you are facing issues like me

1.      Use shoe boxes, both box and lids as drawer dividers. This way your drawer won’t be a mess and it will be easier to sort out things.

2.      Arrange your clothes by color in the closet so that it becomes easy to search and find. It also gives you an idea of the color you might be missing from your closet.

3.      Attach a stick-on hook to the inside of your closet and hang all your neck-pieces to them. You can as well attach 3 or 4 hooks and arrange the necklaces according to your tastes.

4.      Use a pen stand to store all the brushes, pens or anything that comes in a stick form. This avoids things from scattering away

5.      Keep a box of things you use while sleeping next to your bed. A small box of lotion, eye mask or lip balm. So that you don’t go searching for them when your eyelids are closing.

 Happy organizing..!!!

Ciao...!!

Trend Alert! - Stripes!

This season’s trend is somewhat stripy! Anyways I personally love stripes. They are clean, neat and look chic. If you want to go bold get broader stripes want to look classy narrow them down. We can have any look using stripes. So here is a sneak peek into them.

I guess everyone is aware of the myth that horizontal stripes make you look fat. Well I say nothing makes you look fat unless you have those extra pounds. I personally feel that “If its stripes…it’s gotta be horizontal! “ They look ultra-mod and are evergreen. Vertical stripes too look good but they are not my personal favorite!

These are some tips on stripes

      1.      You can wear striped sweater. Bold color block as base any maybe two bod stripes in contrast across the sweater. I love that combination. It looks very classy even when you are portraying bold colors.

       2.      Stripe tees are the most popular ones! You can throw them on a pair of jeans or shorts and have a very casual look. It’s comfortable and complements well.

      3.      Stripe dresses and skirts are in this season. You can either cut the too much stripe nature by a color block blazer or scarf in case of a dress. Color block top with stripes as skirt look very mod and fab!

      4.      Black and white is classic stripes. But well you can experiment and throw in some color. If you are not very comfortable start with needle stripes in the beginning and then move towards the bolder ones.

      5.      If still not comfortable with stripes but want to use them. Then the last resort is striped accessories.

 Happy Stripes!!

Mood/Fashion lift for Monsoon

Raincoat:
Transparent raincoats were always a trend. But this season try something bright. A perky pink windcheater would definitely give you the spotlight this season. Go for greens, blues and yellow.

Footwear:
Don’t think of heels for a while. Neon is the IN thing rite now. Grab few ballerinas which are waterproof in the brightest color possible. Maybe neon, orange or blue. If not neon surely a yellow pair of cute flip flops should do the magic

Umbrella:
I love this season for umbrella as well. However old fashioned it may be I still find it cute. Grab something funky for this season. Polka dots are in this season and sporting a bright polka dot umbrella will definitely grab some attention. Go for color block if not polka. I am so done with the boring black umbrella, though they last the longest

Accessories:
Don’t sport any expensive watch if you aren’t really checking the waterproof claim of it. I lost a watch doing the same. Go for some bright bangles or a bright scarf. These days you  get those plastic bangles in vibrant colors. So even if they get wet you need not worry

Makeup:
Go for a bright lipstick once in a while!! Maybe a coral or fuchsia. I am myself not very comfortable  with those but why not give it a try.

Ciao!!

To eat or not to eat?

The focus of my today's article is our beloved vegetable - Potato!

Its one of the most popular and oldest vegetable still consumed all across the world. Well, its equally controversial as well!!

The first thing in the advice list that comes to you when everyone knows that you are trying to lose weight is "Stop eating Potatoes,..." so on and so forth.

I am going to give you an insight of what's good and what's not good about this veggie and leave the decision to you. If you are an ardent fan of potato you surely should read this.

Benefits:

  • Potato comes under the starchy food item section. Starch is a form of carbohydrate and carbs are necessary for our body to a certain extent. so you cannot ditch them totally.
  • Also, potato contains vitamins and proteins. So if you need a quick energy tablet you can have a smashed potato.
  • Eating potatoes can reduce inflammation in stomach. It helps in accelerating digestion.
  • Proper consumption of potato can help in skin cells repair. Besides its easy to make.

All the above benefits come to you only if you consume this vegetable in proper manner. Fries, crisps and salted potatoes don't do any good to you. You can consume potato roasted, boiled, smashed (minus the mayonnaise), some people eat it raw with little pepper and salt. It wont do any harm to you.

The method of preparation has a great impact on how helpful it is to your body. So next time think about the final dish before consuming rather than the vegetable thats into it.

Happy munching!!

Ciao..!!

Exfoliating homemade scrub (easiest)

We need to exfoliate the skin often. Due to pollution, improper eating habits and lifestyle out skin grows old faster. If you look in the mirror and feel your skin patchy, dry, flaky then you need to scrub out the dead skin and bring out the new skin underneath it.

Today I will be sharing a homemade scrub which can be made in less than 5 minutes and has really promising effect. Moreover you can use it every alternate day if you want.

Ingredients:

3 tablespoon raw oats (not the processed ones with added flavors and all)
Water/honey/curd – oily skin
Milk – dry skin
Rose water - combination skin
A pinch of salt.

Procedure:

1.      Grind the oatmeal in a mixer grinder. Make sure you don’t grind it to fine powder. Keep it at a considerable granular level
2.      Add a liquid from above which ever suits your skin type.
3.      Let it soak for 2-3 minutes.
4.      Add pinch of salt
Now use this scrub as a natural scrub on your face. Use it for 2-4 minutes It is totally safe to use it. If you have acnes or troubled skin you can skip the salt ingredient.
Even then, if you are skeptical to use it, use it as a body scrub for once and then see the difference.

Pros:

·        This scrub removes all the dead skin cells and makes the skin soft

·        Makes the skin clear

·        Removes tan to a certain extent if used regularly.

·        Cheapest exfoliator. :P

·        Moisturizes the skin

·        No side effects - as it doesn’t contain any chemicals

·        You can customize it – for aroma therapy (by adding some fragrances)

Cons:

·        I don’t see any, unless you are too lazy to make this.

Rating:  N/A
